HiTech Park will have an investment of about USD 55 million.


Minister of State for Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak said Bangabandhu Hitech City Bangladesh high tech park authority has a flagship project set up on 355 acres of land in Kaliakra. Today, through the agreement, 7 companies have been allotted space in Bangabandhu HiTech City and 2 companies have been allotted space at Sheikh Hasina Software Technology Park in Jessore. These companies will invest about USD 55 million here. 

He said 8 hi-tech parks are ready to invest in the country at the moment. 

Three of these parks are awaiting inauguration. So far, 21,000 people have been employed in hi-tech parks. 148 services are being provided in these parks. Of which 43 services are available online. 

This was stated by the Minister of State while addressing a special guest at the land transfer agreement with HiTech Park with nine institutions organized at Sonargaon Hotel in the capital on Thursday  (September30th).  

Bangladesh High Tech Park authorities have allotted space to seven institutions at Bangabandhu High Tech City in Kaliakar in Ghazipur and two at Sheikh Hasina Software Technology Park in Jessore. Under the agreement, Walton, Hitech industries limited,  techno media limited,  daffodil computers limited,  central electro manufacturing service limited,  ulkasemi Pvt ltd,  mctel limited, child health research foundation was allotted space at Bangabandhu High Tech City in Kaliakar for the next 40 years. 

On the other hand, two companies, Reddot Digital Limited and Felicity Big Data Limited were given investment opportunities at Sheikh Hasina Software Technology Park in Jessore. In the agreement for the transfer of land to HiTech Park, The Managing Director of the institute, Dr Bikarn Kumar Ghosh and the heads of nine institutions signed. 

Halima Telecom was handed over the permit to declare a private software technology park on the occasion.

Speaking at the land transfer function at HiTechPark, Chief Guest Planning Minister M A Mannan said that now is the right time to build a sustainable hi-tech manufacturing ecosystem in Bangladesh where hi-tech parks can play a leading role. 

He appreciated the various development works done by the ICT department of the government and hi-tech park.

He said the ICT department deserves praise for its role in the development of IT.
